OPEN PORES

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT PLAN:

WHAT IS THE BEST SKIN TREATMENT FOR OPEN PORES?

We recommend that you book a skin assessment to determine exactly the skin package for your skin concern, however, the following is a popular skin plan outline for those who have open pores.
To book a skin assessment, please book any skin treatment mentioned in the plan above. Then email us that you would like us to advise you of a course of action for your skin. We will do this at your first appointment with us.

Micro needling also known as Collagen Induction Therapy is a high successful aesthetic treatment for the reduction of open pores. No topical cream penetrates into the pore in the same way that micro skin needling can do.

Understanding how pores appear enlarged is the key to selecting the correct treatment. Pores form part of the bodies self cooling system. In other words, they are designed to release water in the form of sweat along with oils such as sebum. Therefore, they must have the ability to open and close. Over time the pore becomes saggy and especially as a result of sun damage.

During micro skin needling a very fine needle penetrates into the pore, at high speed. The promotes the production of collagen which restores elasticity.

SKIN PEEL AND MICRODERMABRASION

A skin peel or microdermabrasion are excellent treatments to have in advance of micro skin needling as they remove impacted matter and blackheads from the skin.

SEBACEOUS HYPERPLASMIA

Sebaceous hyperplasia generally occurs on the face, usually in patients after 40 years of age. It rarely occurs in younger individuals. The most common locations are the forehead and cheeks, as single or multiple nodule of skin cells. It is a proliferative abnormality of the sebaceous glands described as a benign condition consisting of prominently enlarged sebaceous glands on the face.

Sebaceous hyperplasia presents as single or multiple nodules on the face, especially in older people. The nodules are small, yellow–pink. There is no need for surgical excision. Diathermy achieves great results.

If you are unsure of what condition is present on your skin but it looks similar to the pictures shown on this page, please attend a doctor in advance of booking treatment to verify that the condition is Sebaceous hyperplasia. Once it has been diagnosed by your doctor diathermy can be performed.
